19th July 2026 Windsurfing: Wrabness Wind Direction: N Wind Stength: 5/14 Surf / Sea State: smooth Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: 17.67 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 16.25 mile (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Sunday 19th July – Windsurf * River Stour at Wrabness – sunny periods. Foil – 17.67 knot max, 16.26 knot ave., 5.42 knot hour, 15.37 knot mile, 26.17 km., 8.71 knot alpha. Starboard Freeride 150 and a Tushingham Bolt 7.5m. Today’s forecast was marginal at best but with no wind for the next week we decided to head over to Wrabness for the third time in a week! The wind direction was north, a gusty direction and high tide at 4,30 we left Felixstowe around midday and were surprised that there were no cars in Wall Lane and parked easily. I set up the foil board and took it to the beach and there looked like there might be enough wind for my 7.5, I usually don’t like using sails bigger than 6.5 but needs must! I was first out on the water and was later joined by several from upriver at Bradfield and the wind was good to start and was soon up and flying, I did have several good flying runs from Bradfield beach into the middle of Holbrook bay but the wind was very up and down and holding onto a big rig when not hooked in and flying played havoc with my poor old hands so not much fun. Then the wind really dropped light as high water approached so I wobbled ashore to call it a day, the highlight of the day was having a very late lunch with Mag in the van who had been on her usual walk around the Nature Reserve, read and dozed!
